Summer, Manba, Banba, Tsuyome, LIFE!

Hola! Long time no blog~ sorry! works been keepin me busy.

But anyway~ So its  almost freakin summer! you have no idea how long I've waited  for summer!

This winter was so long and cold and stupid!

I'm ready for bikinis, water balloon fights, cook outs, swimming, summer adventures and

EXTREME GYARU MEIKU

So everybodys heard about the "Manba Revival" in the May EGG right?

YAY!

see,  Kaa-tan approves!

Though it may not be a FULL revival like in 200...4? yes 2004...It's still good to see Extreme styles come back in sty;e, even if is only for a few months.

NOSTALGIAAAAAA

So since extreme is  back in, I decide that for my summer style i was gonna go Tsuyome Banba / Banba.

♥♥♥

BANBA

The term Banba originated from Barbie-kei or "barbie gal". Banba can be classified by pale or dark skin depending on their personal preference.hairstyle varies but is often crimped, curled or braided, with fringe (bangs) off to the side. The teased bee-hive-esque do (think Elvira or Amy Whinehouse) seems to be a favorite as well.. Clothing is like club wear, T-shirt dresses, leopard print, knee-high stockings, bright pumps, stiletto boots, fishnets, oversize bags. Often times they wear gemstoned false eyelashes or gemstones on the inside corner of the eye.

This could be seen as a lighter version of manba, but is really a style in it's own. Makeup is considerably lighter than manba and does not include face stickers or very heavy block white makeup. Hair tends to be either natural or neon colours, often with a side-swept fringe (bangs) and curls or braids.

Clothing originally started out as literally bright, 'Barbie Style' clothes, like a bright pencil skirt, platform sandals and a bright shirt. Banba then moved on to general club wear and were often seen in popular Psyche brand Shanit Core during it's boom last year. One variety of banba includes Bosozoku (Biker) Banba.

強めギャル・ TSUYOME GAL

Lighter version of Banba

This is very similar to banba, the main difference being that tsuyome has lighter makeup than banba.

The term 'tsuyome' can be applied to many things, but in this context tends to mean a lighter version of banba.
There are no set rules to this style, it's very general and it can be difficult to tell whether someone is tsuyome or banba. However, tsuyome will always have light pink lip colour at the most, never the block white that some banba wear.
One way to spot tsuyome style is to look at what the person is wearing. Tsuyome should include a little 'wild' clothing/accessories, such as a ripped tee, leather fingerless gloves, headband/wrap, skull belt buckle, graffiti print, etc. There is usually some hint of hip hop, rock and/or biker to tsuyome. Although tsuyome is an incredibly vague term, so gals can really interpret it in a lot of ways, there is a general feeling of a strong/fierce gal image.

now I know I talk a lot of shit about Cocona and her Butterface, but I will say that i LOVE her makeup and her body. No joke. I want her body. just not those terrible faces she makes -__-;;

anyway~ I consider Butterfa--Cocona, Tsuyome banba, so I will most def be turning to her for makeup inspiration this summer:

FUCK THOSE FACES!!!!

but her look will more than likely be my Work/ lazy days makeup. For days when I'm just hanging out bein awesome (yeah right) I'll be pullin my inspiration from 6th and 7th gen. Banbas from Angeleek Saori, Hanne, Aya, and  of course Kyon, along with  other Banbas from then till now:

her legs are creepy, But her EYE MAKE!!

SO EXCITED!!

also, since a lot of Banba use a fair amount of glitter in their makeup, and since I dont have too much glitter anymore since i switched to Baika/Rokku style (Rokku-Rock = Rock style tee, stripes, plaid, skull prints, denim etc. Baika-Biker =  Biker style is characterized by lots of black, bright colors, leather, chains, and plaid. The style is ultra feminine and nods to the Vivienne Westwood punk-rock styles of the 70's in the UK ), I  shimmied  over to the Ebay  and picked up a Big Ole' Bunch a Glitter =3

Only $25 some more!

and i know, I know, its prolly not the best quality glitter, but chill, It's fuckin glitter not a coat hanger abortion!

PLUS! i get a lil mini 5-piece brush set and 10 pairs of lashes!

What kind of gal would I be to pass up lashes????

and in a nod to AV (Adult Video) Gals, with a push from Shaka, I bought a hella sexy bikini.

My boobs most def  arent that nice, but I can fix that.

So I gotta work on gettin my body back in summer shape so I'm not some fat blob at the pool.

But yeah, thats it for now.

Are you guys excited for summer and the manba revival?
